Academic Department
Department of Applied Sciences
Department Overview
The Applied Science department has faculty in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English/Communication Skills. The staff imparts instructions in these subjects to students of various disciplines during the first two semesters.
We focus on building a strong foundational interest in the first year of studies, bridging the gap between school-level science and advanced engineering concepts. Our goal is to equip students with the analytical and communication skills necessary for their professional journey.

Academic Resources
Higher Studies After Diploma
After a polytechnic diploma, the most popular higher study option is lateral entry into the second year of a 4-year B.Tech/B.E. program, turning a 3-year diploma into an engineering degree. Other options include BCA, B.Sc. IT, BBA, specialized certification courses (e.g., CAD, Data Science), or preparing for technical government jobs.
Job Opportunities
Polytechnic diploma holders in India find diverse job opportunities in both private and government sectors, typically in junior engineering, technical, or supervisory roles. Top sectors include manufacturing, infrastructure, IT, and automobiles, with common roles like Junior Engineer (JE), Technician, Supervisor, and CAD Designer. Initial salaries often range from INR 2–5 LPA, with higher prospects in PSUs and international opportunities.
